
Our third post in the series for Women’s History Month features Augusta Ada Byron ~ the only child of the famous poet Lord Byron and his wife Lady Byron.
In her early teen years Ada excelled in mathematics and was singled out by British mathematician Charles Babbage, who is known as "the father of computers”
After marriage to the Earl of a Lovelace, she continued her scholarly work and is credited with writing the very first computer programme algorithm in 1843!
